Croftsongs was created in 1998 to look after the publishing of all compositions by Derek Spence.

 

The music genres covered in Derek's

music is wide and eclectic; ranging

from traditional folk getting a good
                                     kick up the backside to classically
                                     inspired pieces
.

 

All the instruments are played by Derek and, as well as the guitars,
include the mandolin, accordion, bass, banjo and various midi keyboards .

Derek is also a member of the International Songwriters Association (ISA) and has found their experience and free advice invaluable. The ISA was set up in 1967  and is based in Dublin, Eire and sees Derek in good company (makes a change) as the ISA  membership includes: Dolly Parton, Johnny Tillotson (Poetry in Motion), Bobby Vee

(Rubber Ball, Run to Him), Emmylou Harris, Merle Haggard, Norman Petty (Peggy Sue, Rave On, That'll be the Day), Terry Noon (publisher of such hits as Mississippi by Pussycat, I Can't Let Maggie Go by Honeybus). and Tom T. Hall (Harper Valley PTA) and hundreds of other successful songwriters.
